29 Weeks

29 weeks! I feel like the weeks are going by a lot faster now. Thank goodness!

We had our doctor's appointment last Wednesday (this post is very late). Madden weighed 2 lbs 14 oz. Everything looked great! I made it through the glucose test (wasn't bad at all) and the shot (ouch!). Yes, I was freaking out about the shot big time. Matt was probably embarrassed. It did not feel good, however, I am always over dramatic in medical situations. I am happy to say my glucose test came back normal. Yay! Now for the best part of the appointment...pics of our precious baby! Everyone thinks he looks just like Matt (especially the mouth) and I would have to agree! He didn't fully cooperate for his photoshoot. He wanted to stay in a ball and wouldn't stretch out. So all the extra things around his face are arms and legs.

Seeing our little guy's face was such a special moment. There is no way of knowing how many times Matt and I have stared at these pictures. God is so good and I am so incredibly thankful for this little gift I am carrying. Madden, you are already so so loved! 

28 Weeks

We are officially in the third trimester! We have around 12 weeks to go. Wow! Madden probably weighs around 2.5 lbs by now and is around 14 inches long. I'm hoping to get the exact stats at our appointment Wednesday. He is now opening and closing his eyes and can sense changes in light. Pretty neat. My doctor warned me that at around 28 weeks I would really start to feel pregnant. Well she was right. I've been experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions pretty regularly as well as some other lovely pregnancy symptoms. No need to publicly share all of them. Matt probably wishes I would stop sharing them with him : ). Madden is still very active and I hope he continues to be. It's always very comforting to feel him moving around.

I can finally say I have accomplished some things this past week. His bedding is ordered! Huge relief! His room is now cleaned out and ready to be painted thanks to my husband. He cleaned it out today actually. We are registered as of today also. Baby shower dates are set. I think that's all for now. I still have to order a rocking chair and pick out the paint color for his room.

We went to visit our friends, Kelly and Michael Seger, today in the hospital. They had their adorable baby boy, Caden. We were so excited for them. Definitely made Matt and I anxious for our big day! Come on February!

I am already enjoying this week off for Thanksgiving! Matt and I spent the day cleaning the whole house. Always nice to get that done and out of the way. After visiting the Seger's we went to see the Twilight movie. Um, a little too bloody and graphic if you ask me. I don't think I will be watching that one again but I am excited to see how it all ends in the next movie. Tomorrow we are putting up our Christmas decorations. Then Wednesday we get to see our sweet boy at our 4D! Can't wait!

27 Weeks

So I feel like I am in a period of RAPID growth. Literally I feel like I grew just over the weekend. I can't wait to see how he is measuring at our next appointment. Next week we get our 4D and I can't wait! I am ready to see that sweet face! As far as symptoms go, I am pretty much living in the bathroom these days. This child of mine is using my bladder as his pillow. I pretty much never lose the urge to pee (TMI I know but that's what's going on). Nights are even worse. And he is only getting bigger so this is only going to get worse I know. Here is the week 27 pic (which is awful b/c I had just gotten home from work and had to use the timer thing on my camera b/c Matt was not home...just excuse the way I look)

Next week we are off the whole week for Thanksgiving. Yay! Matt doesn't know it yet but I have a pretty long list of things to get done. We still have not completely cleaned out Madden's room which used to be the office. Therefore it still has a TON of junk in it (Matt's junk that is). If I can decide on a paint color, I am going to try to get the room painted. Doubt that will happen, but it is on my list. I also have to shop for a dresser/changing table and finally register. Once I have his room ready I will feel at ease.

On a random note, I am ready to put up Christmas decorations! Think I may do that this weekend so I can enjoy them on my week off. Matt will roll his eyes when he reads this : )

26 Weeks

This post is very late, especially considering I will be 27 weeks tomorrow! We have been busy busy busy. Basketball season has officially started and it is always busy in the beginning. We have had something going on almost every night this week. Here is my week 26 pic.....

Madden is still around the size of an eggplant. He is still very active during the day and at night especially. The poor little thing still doesn't have a complete room or anything for that matter. His mother has got to get herself into gear! I read the Bump every week to get updates about my pregnancy. I've been reading about leg cramps and how they can be pretty common around this time. Well I encountered my first one during the middle of the night this week. Ouch!! I seriously had to hold back the screams. Those things hurt! And my leg is still sore from it. I read drinking lots of water helps to prevent them so I have been doing just that. Don't want to experience another one of those. I am still sleeping pretty good (minus the 3 trips to the bathroom during the night). Hope the good sleep continues!

Halloween Fun!

Halloween was great this year. We had a party at work complete with costumes. I went as a cat holding a fish bowl....

Erica and Martin came over that night and we combined candy to hand out to the trick-or-treaters. This was our first experience with trick-or-treat in our neighborhood. It was CRAZY. I'm used to being in the country and driving to maybe five houses to get candy and having maybe 5 trick-or-treaters knock on your door. We eventually had to just turn out the lights because we ran out of candy. I have to say it was pretty fun though! Can't wait to get to experience it with Madden. 

25 Weeks

I am 25 weeks on my 26th birthday! Madden is now the size of an eggplant.

- He's enjoying his new sense of equilibrium -- he now knows which way is up and which is down.

- He's growing more fat and more hair too!

Definitely getting bigger! Today is my birthday and I am enjoying a relaxing day with my husband. He got me two of my favorite things for my present...Tom's and a starbucks gift card. 

Fall is definitely my favorite time of year, however, it is going to be very busy for us. Matt has started coaching again. He is assistant coach for girl's basketball this year, and the season has begun! My brother is playing on the high school basketball team so we will be attending some of his games as well. And of course, I have a million and one things to get done before February! I am thankful for the busyness though. Hopefully it will make time go by a lot faster so I can hurry up and meet this sweet baby!

24 Weeks

Madden now weighs between 1 pound and 1 1/2 pound and is about 12 inches long. We are at the fun stage of being able to watch the kicks instead of just feeling them. He comes alive the most at night when I lay down. They measured me for the first time at my doctor's appointment last week and we are right on track! My next appointment will be exciting/miserable. The very exciting part is that we are getting our 4D ultrasound! Yay! I absolutely cannot wait to see his face! I will be almost 29 weeks when I have it done, so I am hoping that gives him enough time to get a little fat in those cheeks. The miserable part will be getting the glucose test done, and because of my negative blood type I have to get a shot. I don't do shots. At all. I don't do medical situations. At all. I most definitely don't do getting my blood drawn well. AT ALL. I told my doctor I suffered from white coat syndrome. Seriously, everytime I step foot in a doctor's office my hands pour with sweat and my blood pressure rises. Even at the quick appointments where they just listen to the heartbeat I get nervous. Dr. Hill said I am about to be majorly desensitized. I knew this and am trying to remain calm about what's ahead of me. I am just taking it one step at a time. If I can just make it through this shot and glucose test! Ha! Pitiful I know, but I have always been this way. Thankfully I will have those sweet pictures of my baby to get me through the appointment.

I have decided to make goals for myself between doctor's appointments. I have got to start getting things done! I went to Premiere Fabrics last week and got some fabric swatches for his bedding. I am going to try to make a decision soon and get that ordered. Also I am planning on registering in the next couple of weeks. That way I will be a little more organized about what we need. Besides the constant weight gain - esp in the face and hip area : ( - I am still feeling great. No swelling, heartburn, or any other symptoms yet. No stretch marks yet. Praise! This makes me think I do need to get things done before all of these symptoms do start happening!
